Registration
For any of you stragglers, the Telfer guides will be set up on University Private in between the Morisset Pavilion (65 University Private) and the Perez Pavilion (50 University Private) for last minute registrations from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm.
Introduction to Telfer 101 Week
All Telfer guides and 101ers will then head over to the Desmarais Building (Telfer’s home, which is by far the nicest building on campus… just saying) to do some ice breaker activities.
Lodge Party
At night we will all be bussing to Camp Fortune (A ski lodge in Quebec) for a massive party with every faculty at the University of Ottawa. This night is a great way for you to meet people from other faculties by either dancing the night away, or chilling on the patio. The choice is yours! Camp Fortune is equipped with several bars, a large patio, a massive dance floor, and a BBQ for anyone who wishes to grab a bite to eat… Not bad eh?!

Beach Day
Fun-in-the-sun! We are all heading to Mooney’s Bay Beach for a full day of beach volleyball, tug-or-war, swimming, and many more activities for your enjoyment. There will also be plenty of time for you to relax by the water and catch some rays if that interests you.
Club Night
Get ready to paint the town red! We will be heading over to Le Volt Nightclub across the provincial border in Hull, Quebec to dance the night away. Le Volt is equipped with 3 bars, a rooftop patio and 2 DJ’s, now if that doesn’t impress you, I don’t know what will! Be sure to bring your dancing shoes and your Telfer enthusiasm as we will be partying all night long!

Faculty Information Sessions
It is time to start getting ready for those 8:30 morning classes, so today you must wake up before noon to attend your mandatory Information Sessions put on by the faculty. These sessions will fill you in on all of the important information that you will need to know in order to be successful at the Telfer School of Management. If you haven’t already registered for a session you can do so at http://www.els-sae.uottawa.ca/university101/#info.
Shinerama!
Right after your Info Session you will be meeting up with a group of guides to begin the Shinerama festivities! We will be shining shoes, singing songs, possibly even doing a magic trick or two to raise money for Shinerama, a charity dedicated to raising money for Cystic Fibrosis. This event truly is a great cause, and there is no reason why you can’t have fun while supporting it! As you will soon learn, at Telfer we turn everything into a party!
Boat Cruise
For the night event we are taking you on an adventure on the water! Yes, that’s right we are going to be partying the night away on a boat cruise! This event is a Telfer favourite, as it gives you a chance to mingle with friends, dance, and have fun all while taking in the beautiful scenery of the Parliament buildings against the sunset. As business professionals in the making we learn to always present ourselves in a professional manner… however, the boat cruise is kind of like Las Vegas… you get the idea!

Club’s Day
All of the Telfer Clubs and Associations will be gathering today on the 90 University walkway so that you can peruse through and decide which clubs you would like to get involved with! The club atmosphere at Telfer is truly one of the best experiences you will ever have and we highly encourage you to check them all out! The Telfer Clubs and Associations are: Accounting Club, AIESEC, CASCO, Finance Society, Human Resources Association, Jeux du Commerce, Management Information Systems Association, Managers Without Borders, Telfer Marketing Association, and The Entrepreneur’s Club.
Faculty BBQ
Please join the Telfer Student Council on Wednesday, September 7th from 11:30 am - 2:30 pm just outside of the 90 University entrance for a faculty BBQ. All proceeds from this BBQ will directly support the Telfer Shinerama fund. Last year, the Telfer School of Management raised almost $8000 for Shinerama, which was the highest amount raised by any faculty at the University of Ottawa. In addition to the BBQ, you will have the opportunity to network with some of Telfer’s student leaders, as all of the Telfer Clubs and Associations will have table displays set up along the 90 University Walkway promoting their events/ services to Telfer students.
We hope to see you all there to share in some good food, great conversation, and support a fantastic cause!
Chateau Cartier
Enjoy a night of high class full of delicious food, good music, and great company at the beautiful Chateau Cartier in Gatineau, Quebec. There will be plenty of surprises throughout the night that will encourage you to meet new people and polish your networking skills.
